Singapore stocks tad higher, with almost 2 gainers for every decliner, says Dow Jones.

STI +0.1% at 2,998.13, not expected to test year-to-date high of 3,043, with buyers holding back ahead of FOMC’s interest rate decision, accompanying statement due later Tuesday.

“The committee needs to convey a sense of vigilance and readiness to pursue additional policy actions if conditions warrant, as opposed to emitting an air of indifference at this meeting,” says DMG chief economist Thomas Lam.

Notable gainers among STI components include Wilmar (F34.SG), +1.4% at $6.54, Genting Singapore (G13.SG), +1.6% at $1.28. Small caps most active in market, led by Informatics (I03.SG), +13.5% at $0.21, United Envirotech (U19.SG), off 1.2% at $0.425, Memstar Technology (5MS.SG), +14.3% at $0.08.
