Singapore June CPI likely +3.5% on-year vs +3.2% in May as private transport costs continued rising, according median forecast of Dow Jones Newswires poll of five economists.

“Most of the major categories within the CPI basket, except telecommunications, should record price increases in June, but transport components will stand out as the main inflation driver. Excluding car prices, inflation may have been a very benign +1.5% in June,” Standard Chartered Bank economist Alvin Liew says in note.

Poll tips CPI +0.5% on-month, seasonally-adjusted vs +0.6% May.
