Trek 2000 International, the inventor of the ThumbDrive and FluCard – today announced that its USB ThumbDrive with customised encryption has met the government security requirements for portable storage devices and been approved for use by all Singapore government agencies.

Trek says its encrypted ThumbDrive provides an enhanced-level of mobile data encryption security to protect government document records safely, especially when these documents need to be transported. The customised encryption aims to support roaming users.

Besides encrypting data stored on the drive, Trek says future release of the product would also provide secure connection to servers from remote sites. This would enable users to work from home securely in situations like Sars breakout, it added.
