SATS says in the first quarter of FY2010-11 ending June 30, all operating indices showed improvement over the corresponding period last year due to the continuing recovery of the aviation sector and the Singapore economy.
The 13.8% growth in passengers handled to 8.65 million from 7.6 million was mainly led by the growth in passenger traffic from full-service carriers, which accounted for two-thirds of the overall increase.
This also contributed to the 9.8% year-on-year growth in meals produced to 4.73 million units from 4.31 million units.
Cargo throughput was 12.8% higher at 367.6 tonnes compared to 325.8 tonnes a year ago as a result of the improved economic environment.
