Mermaid Maritime Public Company says wholly-owned subsidiary Mermaid Offshore Services (MOS), the provider of sub‐sea engineering services to the offshore oil and gas industry, has secured a contract providing Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) services for a major oil and gas operator in the Sakhalin region for US$2.8 million ($3.9 million).

The DP2 ROV support vessel Mermaid Sapphire and its built‐in ROV systems will be deployed for the assignment. This is the second assignment for Mermaid Sapphire since her delivery. The newbuild vessel is presently on contract to PTT Exploration and Production Plc. (PTTEP) in the Gulf of Thailand and till the end of this month.

Mermaid Sapphire will start on Sakhalin project which should last 70 days once the PTTEP project ends.
