Vincent Van Pelt, Standard Chartered Plc’s Singapore-based global head of equities and commodities, is to take a one-year sabbatical and the bank has lined up a successor, according to spokeswoman Tan Hsueh Mei.
Van Pelt will leave on June 11 to go back to the U.K. for personal reasons and decide at the end of the break whether to return, Tan, head of media relations, wrote in an e-mailed reply to questions from Bloomberg. Details about his replacement will be released in due course, she wrote.
Van Pelt joined StanChart, as the bank is known, about two years ago from Bear Stearns Co., where he had spent 14 years, the bank said. Before that he had been with Bankers Trust Co., it said.
