China Jishan Holdings, the textile print and dye specialist in China, registered a 109.7% year-on-year leap in net profit to RMB1.2 million ($0.2 million) for the first quarter ended 31 March 2010 (1Q 2010) on the back of a 185.6% surge in revenue to RMB99.2 million.
This was largely due to the significant increase in production capacity, arising from the new home furnishing print and dye plant which the group strategically acquired in 2009.
Executive Chairman of China Jishan Jin Guan Liang says: “The group’s strategic expansion into the home furnishing printing and dyeing business last year has not only created an additional revenue stream, but also enhanced our competitive edge. Compared to the same period last year, the group has benefited from the higher gross profit margin enjoyed by the printing and dyeing of home furnishing textiles, as well as the decline in certain raw material costs. The export tax rebate for textiles and garments has also marginally increased from 14% to 15% in the first quarter of 2009 to the current rate of 16%.”
