Tee International, the engineering and integrated real-estate and facilities management group, today announced that Chewathai, which is 49%-owned by Tee’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Trans Equatorial Engineering, has acquired a 6,312 sqm plot of land at Ramkhamhaeng Road in Bangkok, Thailand, for 151.65 million baht ($6.6 million).

With its frontage facing the Ramkhamhaeng Road, the site is near to the Ramkhamhaeng University (one of the largest and more popular universities in Thailand), the Rajamangala Stadium (Thailand’s largest stadium), The Mall Bangkapi (a mega shopping complex comprising three buildings) and the Nida University. Chewathai intends to develop this plot of land into one-bedroom and studio residential units for middle-income residents who live and work close to the city centre of Bangkok.

Through Chewathai, a joint venture company with Chartchewa, Tee has been making inroads into Bangkok.

The 52-unit The Surawong about 200 metres away from the popular Patpong district will receive its completion notices in the next few weeks and already more than half the units here have been sold.

The 329-unit Chewathai Ratchaprarop has also been launched for sale and is expecting to receive its completion notices within the year. With over half of the units sold, Chewathai Ratchaprarop comprises a wide range of choices from 1 bedroom units to 4 bedroom units and is targeted at more than middle-income families with close proximity to a park, mass transit system and shopping complexes.
