Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced today that MF Global Singapore has become a Trading Member of the SGX securities market. MF Global is currently a trading and clearing member of the SGX derivatives market.

“My team and I welcome the opportunity for MF Global, a long-standing member of SGX in the listed derivatives segment, to be admitted as a member of the securities segment as well,” said Laurence O’Connell, managing director, Asia-Pacific for MF Global.

“With this membership, we shall be strongly positioned to provide our clients with access across a broader range of asset classes including derivatives, commodities and equities – a key area of expansion for the firm in the Asia-Pacific theatre.”

Following MF Global’s admission, the SGX securities market has 26 trading members and 26 clearing members while the SGX derivatives market has 30 trading members and 25 clearing members.
