ST Engineering says wholly-owned subsidiary ST Synthesis has been awarded a five-year contract worth about $18 million by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA).

The contract, which will start on June 1, 2010, entails the installation and maintenance of traffic signal systems for the eastern part of Singapore.

ST Synthesis will provide maintenance, repair, replacement and upgrade of traffic signal systems, including new installation and modification. The scope covers ground and overhead traffic signal poles, traffic signal heads, controllers, loop detectors, meter and cable distributions; as well as the Integrated Pedestrian Countdown System at various traffic signal junctions and pedestrian crossings for the eastern side of Singapore. ST Synthesis will also provide 24-hr Fault Reporting Centre services for the East Division.

With this contract, ST Synthesis continues to establish its presence in providing integrated services and comprehensive maintenance to key installations and critical infrastructures. Last July, ST Synthesis was awarded a contract by LTA for the comprehensive maintenance of Kallang Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE).
