Cosco unit delays delivery of 4 more vessels to European ship owner

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says subsidiary Cosco (Zhoushan) Shipyard Co. has agreed to the requests by a European ship owner to reschedule the delivery dates of four 57,000 dwt bulk carriers it has ordered after negotiations.

The delivery dates for the four vessels will now take place 18 to 19 months later with the latest to take place by March 2012 instead of September 2010.

Meanwhile, Cosco (Zhoushan) Shipyard Co. has delivered a new a 57,000 dwt bulk carrier, the M.V. Shun Xin, to its buyer, a subsidiary of China Cosco Holdings Company.

The M.V. Shun Xin measures 189.99 metres long, 32.26 metres wide and 18 metres high. Classed by NK, the bulk carrier has a draft of 12.8 metres and a navigation speed of 14.2 knots.
