Goodpack, the provider of Intermediate Bulk Containers, says profit attributable to equity holders rose 32.9% to US$9.75 million for the three months ended Dec 31 2009 (2Q2009/10) from US$7.3 million in 1Q2009/10 on the back of demand recovery and operational efficiency.

With the global economy poised for a gradual recovery after the sharp recession last year, the group witnessed a strong recovery in the second quarter of this financial year, where 2Q2009/10 revenue registered a growth of 24.8% to US$32.3 million (1Q2009/10: US$25.9 million).

The group said it continued to enhance operational efficiency through trade lane optimisation. As a result of the ongoing expansion of geographical presence and operations, the group has also added 1,300 service locations to 5,000 locations globally. The group has also set up new offices in Taiwan and South Africa in the first half of FY2009/10.
