Cerebos Pacific, the food and health supplements manufacturer, says it posted a 22% rise in net profit of $36.8 million for 1QFY2009/10 from $30.1 million in the previous corresponding period.
This was achieved on a 24% higher turnover of $258.6 million. Excluding an exchange translation gain of $18.9 million, turnover would have grown by 15%.
In Asia, turnover was up 16% (excluding exchange gain of $0.7 million) generated from strong sales performances in Thailand, Singapore, China and the health supplement tablets business.
For Australasia, turnover was 13% higher (excluding exchange gain of $18.2 million) mainly as a result of stronger performance in the fresh coffee and gravies segments.
