Mainboard-listed CNA Group, the designer of intelligent buildings and facilities, says Changi Airport Group (Singapore) has renewed CNA’s existing Intelligent Building Management System (IBMS) operations and maintenance contract for Terminals 1, 2 and 3 for an additional two years from January to December 2011 which is valued at $3.3 million.
Under the renewal terms, CNA will continue to operate and maintain the intelligent building systems at Terminals 1, 2 and 3 which was designed, implemented and installed by CNA, monitor and control many of the vital mechanical, electrical, security, passenger transport and climate control systems in the airport , many of which were installed by various vendors over the years.
The group will also carry on extending its maintenance services including round-the-clock system monitoring by supervisors and technical officers, periodic maintenance, trouble- shooting, instrument calibration, process fine-tuning, diagnostics, repair, parts management and system enhancement.
The renewal takes place after the expiry of the initial four-year IBMS project which was signed in 2006. Under the terms of this original 2006 contract, Changi Airport has a non-binding option to renew its outsourced partnership with CNA every two years for up to a maximum of 20 years till 2026.
In December, CNA was awarded new operations and maintenance contracts for Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Thailand and a fast-track Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing implementation for Danang International Airport in Vietnam.
Presently CNA is in the process of bidding for other airport projects in Vietnam and the Middle East.
For 9M2009, CNA’s net profit attributable to shareholders rose four-fold to $ 7.2 million from $1.7 million and exceeding that for the whole of FY2008. This performance was propelled by a strong operating profit performance and continuing contribution from the group’s 49.9% associate, Standard Water.
