Federal International (2000) says its first BOO (Build-Operation-Own) waste water treatment project — the Sichuan Panzhihua Vanadium-Titanium Industrial Park Wastewater Treatment Plant — has started commercial operations since Jan 1.

This project, which entails three phases over a contractual period of 27 years, is one of China’s largest acidic waste water treatment projects.

In the first phase of the project, the plant will attain a daily processing capacity of 25,000. Once the three phases are completed, the plant can process up to 100,000 tonnes of waste water per day. The investment cost for Phase 1 is RMB 125 million ($25.6 million).

The first phase is expected to generate revenues of RMB 85 million by Dec 31, 2010 and generate revenue of RMB 100 million in FY2011.
