Singapore’s benchmark stock index, the Straits Times Index, rose 0.33% at 9:05 a.m.
The index of 30 companies traded on Singapore Exchange Ltd. rose 9.52 to 2,929.80.
Among the stocks in the index, 22 rose, 5 fell and 3 were unchanged.
Gains in the Straits Times Index were led by United Overseas Bank, DBS Group Holdings and Fraser And Neave. About 154.31 million shares changed hands in Singapore.
Genting Singapore Plc, which rose 2 cents to $1.30, was the most active stock by value in Singapore.
The next most-active issues were DBS Group Holdings, which rose 6 cents to $15.56, and Capitaland, which rose 1 cent to $4.29.
