Singapore’s Straits Times Index lost 0.3% to 2,889.12 at the 12:30 p.m. trading break. Almost five stocks fell for every three shares that rose on the 30- member gauge. The following shares were among the most active in the market.
Foreland Fabrictech Holdings (FLFT SP), a fabric Maker, dropped 5% to 9.5 cents. The company said it will incur an additional 294 million yuan ($60.4 million) cost for the construction of a new facility in China due to delays in the project’s implementation.
Hyflux (HYF SP), Singapore’s biggest publicly traded water-treatment company, slipped 0.6% to $3.53. Istithmar World PJSC has filed a summons against the company in relation to warrants Hyflux sold to Istithmar in 2004, Hyflux said.
SC Global Developments (SCGD SP), a developer of luxury homes climbed 8.2% to $1.85, set for its highest close since Feb. 21, 2008. DMG & Partners Securities Pte said SC Global is among its preferred developers as the company will benefit from rising foreign demand for high-end residential property.
Swiber Holdings (SWIB SP), a provider of offshore engineering services to the oil and gas industry, advanced 2% to $1.04. OCBC Investment Research maintained its “hold” rating and raised its share-price forecast to $1.10 from 91 cents.
Tiong Woon Holdings Corp. (TWC SP), the crane leasing company, dipped 0.8% to 63 cents. CIMB Group Holdings Bhd downgraded the stock to “neutral” from “outperform” and cut its share-price forecast to 73 cents from $1.06.
