COOEC, a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), one of the largest EPCI contractors for offshore oil & gas industry in the Asia Pacific area, have appointed C2O Marine Pte, a wholly-owned subsidiary of C2O Holdings, to assist COOEC in seeking opportunities for its range of equipment and services in the Middle East.

Through its contacts in the Middle East, C2O Marine assisted COOEC to participate in tendering for a wellhead deck installation project, which resulted in a contract between COOEC and National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), Abu Dhabi, UAE. The value of the contract is in excess of US$24 million ($33 million). NPCC is a major international (EPC) contractor, capable of providing complete engineering, procurement and construction for the offshore oil & gas industry.

For this contract, COOEC mobilised its self-propelled heavy lift vessel Lan Jing in August from China to Qatar. The scope of work includes the provision of heavy lift vessel Lan Jing with full marine and construction crew to carry out single heavy lift of wellhead deck weighing some 4,000 tonnes in the Al-Shaheen field, offshore Qatar. The Lan Jing is the world’s largest single lift self-propelled vessel with a lifting capability of 7,500 tonnes.
This project was successfully completed in October 2009.
