SuperBowl Holdings warned that it expects to report a full-year loss for 2008 due to losses on its listed investments.

The firm, which manages several bowling centres, billiard-game halls and arcade-game outlets  islandwide, blamed plummeting share prices worldwide.

“Given the worldwide decline in equity valuations which has extended to shares traded on the Singapore and Malaysia stock exchanges, the company expects to incur an impairment loss on the quoted investments,” it said in a statement.

“While healthy returns from the operational activities from our recreation business and investment properties will mitigate the impairment loss from the company's quoted investments, the group expects to report an overall loss for the year ended Dec 31, 2008.”
